Here are a few images from a recent engagement session with a super couple! Cathy & Tony have been in love for many years, and have waited and planned a special September wedding. We’re so excited for their event, and are honored to be able to document this special season in their lives! Congratulations Cathy & Tony! We’re looking forward to it!
Yesterday our little clan decided to go hiking. We invited our friends Ian Eyre and his son Jackson to join us. It was an interesting adventure. We started on a fairly easy fire road and then decided to venture up this intense little trail. The adventure was awesome and 2 hours later we ended up back at the car with some amazing pictures to show. Hope you all enjoy!
On Saturday we had the wonderful opportunity to work with 3 wonderful hairdressers from Salon Sessions. They approached us to do some photographs for a project of theirs in which they must submit some editorial style pictures for a contest. It was great to work with them. They also did rockin’ work on the models hair. We hope to work with them again. Enjoy the pics!
Yellow is a delightful color, and we experienced an overload of this joyful hue at a recent birthday celebration for some dear friends! You may recognize the faces, as we’ve been privileged to photograph this family many times in the past years. Happy Harper Jo and Little Marley Man celebrated their 3rd and 1st birthdays this month, and this yellow party was a great event! Absolutely everything was yellow…the guests wore yellow, yellow foods were served, and all the decor, activities, and favors were as yellow as can be. Enjoy the photos!
If you have been keeping up with us lately you will remember the Hope in the City fashion shoot that we did about a month ago. Well a couple weeks ago the fashion show happened. It was an amazing event that was packed full of so many people. (They even had to turn people away at the door). Please enjoy these pictures from that wonderful event. We would like to thank Tammy Borrero and all the models, designers and Mosaic for allowing us to participate in the event.
Today we launch the newest Terra Nova website. Terra Nova is an event put on by Mosaic and Awaken Humanity that brings artisans form all over together in one place to create and grow together. We had the opportunity to go to Terra Nova last year and it was amazing. Last year we took these pictures, which as you can see are being used on the site too. This project was a quick project that allowed us to work closely with Joby Harris, Mosaic’s art director, in the design process. So please check the site out and we hope to see you there this year!

Today we cheered Kolby on as he conquered his first-ever 5K race. I’m SOOOO proud of his hard work, his tenacity, and his excellent effort in the race this morning. I think this will be the first of many races to come, so it was special to be there at the finish line for his first race. We were joined by two families we love, so we want to say thanks to them for their support! Congratulations also to Rustin for also running and finishing well!
I recently trekked out to Whittier to meet up with Kim McManus for some headshots! Kim is an inspirational woman, speaker, leader…and so much more! This weekend Solace Arts participated in a fashion shoot in preparation for Mosaic LA’s event “Hope in the City”. This event is a fashion show and art auction that benefits Awaken Humanity projects around the globe, and is a terrific showcase of creativity and talent of designers, photographers, hair and make-up artists and all kinds of talented behind-the-scenes folks. This particular shoot included many photographers, so we wanted to try something new for us, and put together this seamless white setup. It was so much fun, you can bet we’ll be doing it again soon! It was fabulous to work with professional models and crazy awesome hair and makeup people. Check it out and let us know what you think!

Oh beautiful baby! Some of you may have seen the delightful maternity session we did with the proud parents of this little guy. If you missed it, you can see it here! I had the privilege of documenting the labor/birth story while they were in the hospital, and returned to see this little joy at seven days old. Here are some of my favorites from our time together. I love those kissable newborn cheeks! Congratulations Storm family! He’s a handsome boy and I’m sure you have many adventures ahead. Thanks for letting us be part of these sweet beginnings!
