Awaken Zambia Day – Scoggins Family

Here is yet another terrific family we had the pleasure of photographing on our mini-session day. These little girls are so lovely! I was especially impressed with how comfortable they were in front of the camera. I think perhaps they have some experience! In fact, I think all the terrific images from their mini-session were captured in less than 10 minutes–a record for us! It was great to meet you Scoggins Family!

Awaken Zambia Day – Alex & Marcella

The sessions keep coming! It wasn’t until I started preparing these blog entries that I realized just how many pictures we took at this fundraiser for the Awaken Zambia team. We certainly generated a lot of data that day!

This family was especially sweet–of course, I am a sucker for adorable little babies, so that would explain it! This little guy is only a few months old, and already has an old-soul personality to him. It amazes me how children come into this world with their own personalities, and reveal them to us one little treasure at a time. I continue to be surprised by my own children as they develop and grow, and yet from their earliest days, they’ve been uniquely themselves. Thanks for sharing your darling son with us Alex & Marcella! He’s a handsome boy.

Awaken Zambia Day – Larissa

Hopefully you’re not growing tired of our sessions from the Awaken Zambia fundraiser…we have a few sessions to go! Here are a few from our session with the beautiful and talented actress Larissa Wise. We’ve not had the pleasure of seeing her in a production yet, but we hear she is beyond fabulous! I was impressed (and excited!) that she wanted to fit a few outfit changes into the super quick mini-session, and give her props for taking direction extremely well. Such a lovely face! It was great to meet you Larissa!

Awaken Zambia Day – Carmack Family

Perhaps one of the cutest babies I’ve ever seen…Yes. I think so! In fact, I don’t think I’ve seen as expressive a baby since my own daughter was this age! We are so thankful to the Carmack family for participating in the Awaken Zambia fundraiser. You guys were truly a pleasure to photograph! I love photographing babies when they are sitting up well and starting to crawl around and explore the world. This little one was no exception!

Awaken Zambia Day – Tolulope

Here is another session from our Awaken Zambia fundraiser day. This gal is a teacher who has always aspired to be a model, so she turned out for the fundraiser to take some great photos of herself for whatever modeling adventures might lay ahead for her. I loved being able to hear a little about her story and capture these great shots. Her eyes are so stunning! All the best to you Tolulope! Thanks for giving us the opportunity photograph you!

Awaken Zambia Day – Kawai Family

Continuing with the great mini sessions we had in honor of the Mosaic team headed to Zambia, we had the energetic Kawai family early in the day as well. These boys were so energetic! I guess it surprised me a little because my own little guy has only recently found his mobility, and my daughter is not quite as rowdy, being a girl and all. I was surprised but tickled by their enthusiasm and energy, and was really blessed to have met this sweet family. Thanks for coming out for the fundraiser Kawai family!

Awaken Zambia Day – Ferrari Girls

This month we had the awesome opportunity to participate in fundraising for a team from Mosaic that will be traveling to Zambia to train educators at an orphanage this coming summer. Because we have small children, we’re not up for traveling overseas ourselves at the moment, but we jumped at the chance to be part of such a great cause. Throughout this week, we’ll be posting the highlights from this great fundraising event, so stay tuned! This is the first family we saw that day, and these girls are delightfully adorable! I loved their sweet dresses and happy faces. How they melted my heart! They were a terrific start to a terrific day. More to come soon!

Disneyland

Last Friday we had an amazing day of fun with our dear friends Matthew and Song Harri and their two dashing boys. They were in town for a family wedding, and called us up for a fun day at Disneyland. How could we resist?! After a long week, we decided that a bit of fun was in order, so to Disneyland we went. Both of our kids were pretty wiped out from a round of colds that have been through our house this month, as well as off-kilter sleeping schedules, but that didn’t keep us from having the time of our lives with this amazing family. I confess, I spent more time snapping photos of these darling boys than I did taking in all of Disneyland (it was my first visit ever!) but it was so worth it!

Matt and Song are expecting their third child in April, and this time they’re expecting a girl! We are so thrilled for them, and so thankful that we had this little blip of time to hug them and see how their family has grown. They live in Kansas City, Missouri and are a part of the International House of Prayer (IHOP). Song was my close friend and roommate in college (go SPU Falcons!) and it has been an amazing journey to see how our relationship has grown through marriages, babies, and so much more. She’s a treasure and definitely a blessing to many. If you’re interested in knowing more about them and what they’re doing at IHOP, check out their website!

Some of our highlights from the day include Alaina’s first ride on a full-size carousel all by herself, meeting the life-sized Buzz Lightyear, and taking a family photo in front of the famous Disney castle. What a fun day! Hope you enjoy the photos.
